Stalin’s era is the raw nerve of the former USSR—a time of unimaginable trauma, revolution, and oppression. Every family that lived through it bears the scars of war, purges, and the dramatic transformation of society.
Today, these deeply personal stories are often exploited for political gain: Ukraine and Georgia depict Stalin as the embodiment of hell, while Russia reshapes the past into a glorified myth of heroism and dignity.
In our new program, we aim to unravel the contradictions of the era, decolonize the history of the USSR, and embrace the powerful energy of that period.
